SEI Daily Update #1

The Students Have Arrived!

After months of planning and preparation, the SEI staff were super excited to welcome all the students to Los Angeles International Airport today! All 109 students arrived safely today from 5 different countries.

When students arrived at the airport and got through the customs and immigration checkpoint, our welcome team with recognizable SEI t-shirts and big SEI signs greeted the students and checked each student in to confirm they had arrived. The staff helped students load all their luggage into the buses, then drove to the CBU campus.

After such a long flight, some students took a quick nap as we drove through Los Angeles. When they arrived at the CBU campus, students were greeted by a cheering crowd of SEI staff welcoming them in front of the dorms (an SEI tradition). Dorm registration took place in the dorm lobby, where students received their room number, received their official SEI lanyard and name tag, got their pictures taken, and checked in important documents and valuables at the SEI bank.

As students settled into the dorm, RTAs and teachers immediately began talking with students and playing games. We’re off to a great start so far!

After a long day of traveling, students went to bed early to get rested for a weekend of orientation. Tomorrow, students will be learning how to adjust to the time difference, food, and culture before starting classes on Monday. Over the next two days, students will play games, attend seminars, and participate in campus tours and other orientation activities. Stay tuned for the next daily update!
