A Sunny California Weekend 

After a full week of classes and activities, students and staff went on a day-trip to experience iconic sights across Southern California. Students had the option to choose between three different excursions: Huntington Beach, Mount San Jacinto State Park, and the Fashion Island Mall. Each location provided a unique adventure for students, giving them a chance to explore Southern California and practice English in an immersive environment.

Huntington Beach

Also known as “Surf City USA” and “The Soul of SoCal,” Huntington Beach is one of the most famous beaches in the United States. People from all over the world come to visit the 13.7 kilometers of beautiful beach coast, mild climate weather, and enormous waves. Many spectators also visit the beach to watch frequently held surfing competitions. Students thoroughly enjoyed taking photos, playing beach games, and wading in the cool water.

Mount San Jacinto State Park

The world’s largest rotating tramcar, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, travels nearly five kilometers along the breathtaking cliffs of Chino Canyon to the pristine wilderness of the Mt. San Jacinto State Park. During this ten-minute journey, the tram cars rotate slowly, offering students spectacular vistas of the valley below. Upon arriving at the top of the mountain, students had a chance to relax, explore the park’s hiking trails, and soak up the breathtaking view of the surrounding cities and deserts on the observation deck. Students felt refreshed as they breathed in the crisp mountain air and watched the fog slowly drift through the towering pine trees. 

Fashion Island Shopping Mall

Located in the heart of Newport Beach, Fashion Island is Southern California’s premier coastal shopping and dining experience. With panoramic ocean views and towering palm trees, Fashion Island includes famous department stores and specialty boutiques, as well as more than 30 restaurants. SEI students enjoyed hanging out with friends, eating American food, and shopping for clothes, shoes, and gifts in one of the best malls in Southern California.
