Before You Apply
The Application Process
1) Submit an Application
The student must complete an application in one of two ways:
- Online Form
- Paper Version (scanned and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org)
2) Complete Video Chat Interview
Once the application, application fee, and all supporting materials have been received, a Skype or WeChat video interview will be scheduled for the student.
The student’s parents should also be available to talk after the student has interviewed.
The student interview lasts between 15-30 minutes. No preparation is required by the student.
3) Receive Enrollment Contract
An admissions decision will take between 1-3 business days. The student or student’s representative will be contacted with the admissions decision as soon as possible.
If accepted, the student will receive:
- The SEI Enrollment Contract
- Any additional forms needed signed
4) Sign Enrollment Contract and Make Payment
The student’s family will have 10 calendar days to accept or reject the admissions offer and make full payment for SEI.
If the student is accepted after May 1, quicker action may be required, as required on the contract.
5) Obtain Your B-2 Visitor Visa
Once full payment has been made, WA Global Network will issue an official invitation letter to be used to obtain the B-2 Visitor Visa.
The family should schedule the visa appointment right away at their local U.S. Consulate or Embassy.
6) Purchase Your Flights to America and Back Home
Purchase your round-trip flights to and from America. You will arrive in Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in July. You will depart in August either from San Francisco (SFO) or from New York (JFK Airport) depending on which SEI program you signed up for.
Please pay close attention to the information in your enrollment contract.
7) Arrive in America!
A team of SEI staff will be ready to greet you and welcome you to America at the airport! Then, we’ll ride to the SEI campus and begin an amazing month together.
8) Finish SEI and Return Home
At the end of SEI, you’ll fly back home, or to your new American school.
SEI staff will make sure every student safely gets checked in and on to their flight.
